A meal today. A chance to learn tomorrow.

On 23 August 2026, Mahaprasadha volunteers conducted a child-support programme in the Electronic City–Hebbagodi area of Bengaluru, focusing on food support and basic educational supplies.

The programme was designed to provide children with nutritious food while also helping with some of the everyday school requirements that can become difficult for families facing financial challenges.

Food support

During the programme, 300 children received food support.

Each food kit included a combination of staple and nutritious food items:

  • Rice
  • Dal
  • Cooking oil
  • Biscuits
  • Seasonal fruit
  • Milk-based nutritional items

The contents were packed into individual kits for distribution.

Alongside the food support, 120 school-supply kits were distributed to children who required additional educational materials.

Each school kit contained items such as:

  • Notebooks
  • Writing instruments
  • Geometry supplies
  • Drawing materials
  • Other basic school stationery

16 volunteers in action

The programme was supported by 16 volunteers, who helped organise the food and school supplies, prepare the distribution area and coordinate the distribution.

The team worked to ensure that the programme remained orderly and that every child received the intended support.

Why food and education together?

Our Child Support Seva is based on a simple idea:

A child needs nourishment to grow and an opportunity to learn.

Food support can address an immediate need.

Educational support can help a child continue learning.

Our intention is therefore to gradually build a programme that combines both.

Looking beyond one day

The August programme was not intended to be a one-time effort.

Mahaprasadha aims to continue supporting children through periodic food and educational assistance programmes in Bengaluru and surrounding areas.

Our future plans include expanding the number of children supported and working with appropriate local community partners wherever possible.

300 children supported.
300 meals and food kits.
120 school-supply kits.
One step towards a stronger future.
